
2025 Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Art Contest
Kentucky Students who enjoy writing, art, and learning about nature and the environment are encouraged to take place in this year’s 2025 Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Writing Contest.

This year’s theme is “Kentucky Wetlands Up Close” and aims to educate students about Wetland conservation in Kentucky. A PDF for interested students containing educational information about wetlands, and information on how to sign up for these contests, is available here.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students are eligible for participating in the Jim Claypool Writing Contest, and students from sixth through twelfth grades are able to submit essays for the 2025 Conservation Writing Contest.

Submissions for each contest are due to your local Conservation District by Friday, December 1st, 2025.
